The Northern Ohio Rottweiler Club (NORC) is proud to announce our Sanctioning Show / Demo BST on Saturday, August 8th, 2009 in Akron, Ohio. The judge will be Bill Crawley. Bill did an excellent job of judging at another club’s sanctioning show, so we are very happy to have him. Several of our club members have extensive experience in putting on very successful previous shows, so we look forward to making this a great experience for everyone and their dogs. Our premium will be posted very soon on the USRC Events section.

Currently, this is the last scheduled USRC show until fall/winter, so we hope people take advantage of this show to support a new club, and to show your dogs. We have a large area reserved at the park, with plenty of parking available for any size vehicles/ trailers. There is a large building adjacent to the show field with nice restrooms and a large concession area. We will have kiddie pools on hand filled with ice to help keep the dogs as comfortable as possible. There is a large shelter building right next to the show field, and we will provide several large fans in this area. We realize this is fairly short notice, but we are asking everyone to send their entries in ASAP, as this will be a one day show…limit of 60 entries, and we are already receiving strong support for this show just from some initial word-of-mouth. Your support for our 1st show is very much appreciated. The show will be held at:

Akron- Springfield Jedd Park
2275 Pickle Road
Akron, OH 44306

Entry fees will be $35.00 for USRC members, and $45.00 for non-USRC members. Trophy sponsorship is sincerely appreciated at the following rates:
Each whole group class (4-6 month puppy male, etc..) trophy sponsorship is $35.00.
Each individual overall trophy (Best Adult Male/ Female,
Best Youth Male/Female,
Best Puppy Male/Female) trophy sponsorship is $30.00.

The premium will be posted very soon, but in the meantime entry forms are available in the “Forms” section of the USRC website.

Please make all checks payable to: Northern Ohio Rottweiler Club and mail all documents, entry forms, and checks to:
Liz Crawley
6060 Keller Dr.
Sun Prairie, WI 53590

If you have any questions, please contact: Skip Morgart
Telephone: 330-798-1672
Email: skipmorgart@aol.com

Again, thank you very much for supporting our 1st show, and we look forward to a great event.

Skip Morgart

Just curious :D , why is the club charging a different rate for USRC members? Is there a difference in the amount of time or fees to process the paperwork 8) ? I first noticed this difference in entry fee rate with the SMWRK show. What's the reason for the difference in price?

Wondering  ,
Cindy

The 10 dollar difference in price is a USRC rule, and all clubs must abide by it.

Thank you for the answer :) . I appreciate it :D . Maybe someone with the USRC could post why the rule was created?

Still wondering :? ,
Cindy

Hopefully this will not turn into any kind of a debate with anybody, since I'm hoping to keep this thread on track...and I do appreciate being able to promote our show here.

Some members of USRC have noted that a lot non-members will advertise their USRC show ratings (especially from the ADRK judges) on their websites to advertise their dogs and their breedings and their puppies for sale, but still not become USRC members. The thought was that if USRC shows are helping them to advertise, promote, and sell dogs, then the majority of the EB would like to see them become USRC members. The price difference is an incentive for that. Some will disagree, but the price difference is a rule that must be followed by all clubs. As far as the prices we've decided on for our show, I talked to many members and non-members that have attended shows that I've been involved with in the past, and the prices seemd fair to all I spoke to. Hope you can make it.

Most organizations have similar rules. Hell I can't even go to Sam's club or Costco without paying $50.00 yearly for membership and spending my money. Skip good luck and I know your club will do a great job promoting the breed.

I heard the $10 is for the President of the NORC so he doesn't have to have patches on his jeans....

Good luck with your show Skip.

Hey Ron...I can't help it if I'm a slave to fashion. Your daughter (the bigmouth grasshopper) probably spends hundreds of bucks on one pair of jeans that already has holes and patches. We all need to get together at some show again....just tell Lisa not to bring Kweese this time. :) :) :)

It went real well. We had a very slight rain most of the day, but it kept the temps more comfortable for the dogs. We had about 23 entries (good for a sanctioning show) and everything seemed to go very smoothly. Bill Crawley did a great job judging. I heard a lot of good comments from a lot of people that were there.

Good to hear it went smoothly with no incidents at all. 23 is a nice amount for a sanctioning show. So then it is only a false rumor that there was a bite incident at your event?

No, there was no bite incident. Where did you hear that?

I guess I heard it wrong which is great. Thanks for clarifying it. It would have been a shame to hear something like that was true and nothing was done.

Now that I have clarified it, and since you stated it here, let me know who said this to you here also. I think it is just as important, as you say, to do something about it.

Skip, it does sound that nothing happened at all other than trying to get your sanctioning show done. Plenty of times things are discussed pertaining to events happening at an event. I see no problem when those issues are talked about or brought to light. I do not like to hear false things said, and also have no desire to be apart in any way to condoning something false. It is not right and I apoligize to add to it. Congrats on completing your sanctioning show.

What a crock! You were being your usual self and trying to start something.

By the way, you still haven't answered my question of almost a year now and that is- Name the dog you put a BST on and the judge it was done under and when/where?

John, I did notice your signature. No BST listed. You asked the question of someone else, what is the same information on yourself?

None Jane. My dog just turned 2 and I am on the road for the next 4 months. I usually take him with me but not this time, so he is at home. My female is spayed.

See how easy that was to answer a simple question.

John,

FYI
To be fair, Ron has trained & handled at least 2 dogs to their USRC BST's
1. Archard's Alle Prinz, BH, Sch1, BST
2. Filou vom Sonnenhugel, BH, Sch1, BST

I have a copy of Filou's BST as I have interest in breeding to the dog

I'm sure he can provide details if needed.

Regards,

Jim

I still do not see the point where, when, or who I have or have not trialed under matters? I doubt really anyone cares either. I think the first BST was done in 97 maybe 98 under an ADRK judge if that means anything to you. I gave you a run down of somethings (in a prior thread) and really have no interest in digging out old scorebook and papers just to play a bunch of worthless games.

Personally, I remember where and under whom I did my first BH, but hey, that's me.

Here:

Breed Test for Archard's Alle Prinz 6/14/1998
BST-Krings-Eye color 2a. Large, alert and friendly, strong head needs more fill in cheeks, strong muzzle, dark mouth pigment, very good neck and back, very good angulation in rear, strong front, soft pasterns, very good coat condition, ground covering movement, scissors bite. Head shape sufficient/strong, cheek bone slight, bone strength medium. General behavior calm/neutral. Ability to calm down, Tractability, middle. Desire to please/Endurance, high. Point of arousal, very high.Grip full/restless. No reaction to gunfire.

Breed Test for Filou vom Sonnenhügel 6/24/2001
BST-Lashley-Eye color 2b. 4 years old. Excellent type. Right size. Excellent strong head. Ears well set. Nice and close to head. Nice dark eye. Complete dentition. Scissors bite. A little pink pigment in the mouth. Strong neck. Right size. Very good chest. Excellent topline. Shoulder in the right position. Very good angulation. Stands correct. Good bone. Nice strong feet. Strong back. Good angulation in rear. Well muscled. Good coat. Marks could be a little bit more pronounced and cleaner on front feet. Very nice color of marks. Very good movement, with good drive from behind. Head shape strong/typey, cheek bone distinct, bone strength strong. General behavior self confident/alert. Ability to calm down, Tractability, Point of arousal, high. Desire to please/Endurance, very high.Grip full/restless. No reaction to gunfire.

I really have no idea what any of this has to do with the Northern Ohio show and don't think it belongs here though.

Liz

I remember where (& exactly how each went), but who..no (until you posted it). I did the first one as I thought it would be a fun thing to do and learn from & experience. However, thanks for posting as it has been awhile since I read their critiques.

To stay on topic, if the club did what is required as it sounds like all is in order then good luck towards becoming a full member club & putting on some good events in your region.
