I posted some of the results on another thread in this section; but I agree, I would love to know when the critiques are coming.. I don't want to sound mad or anything, I really just want to see my dog's critique. Anyone have any clue about them?

 Sorry but thats funny. No, thats sad. Samantha emailed a written critique to Pam at Wesburg so I could read what the judge had to say about Izzy when I bought him. Maybe she will do something for you but don't ask Steve, he has a life other than dogs or so he says :)

Results are top secret :)

Not much on the USRC site at all for ANY shows. Had to beg for results from the Nationals and someone was nice enough to post them here just like Dave Martin posted the SPARK results. I have been waiting to see the NE regional show info on USRC site but so far nothing at all.

After the past couple of years I think the USRC is happy to see that missing results and critiques are the only thing people are bitching about :)

Do you guys realize how rude you are when you make posting like this? I don't think any of you have ever been involved in putting on an event to realize how time consuming it is even AFTER the show is over, nor do you guys have any involvement in the organization itself to realize the VOLUNTEER-based process that goes on behind the scenes. Results have to be audited to ensure accuracy, then be formatted and uploaded to the server. All done by a team of volunteers. If you guys would like up to the minute results, I'm sure clubs that step up and donate their time and money to host these events would love your help rather than your criticism that it takes too long.

JMHO but its posts like these that make people stop hosting events all together. I can think of a dozen Rottweiler people who refuse to be a part of events because all people do is find something to complain about, and I'm quickly starting to see their point ...

On the other hand rottweiler owners who choose to show their dogs and will more than $1,000.00 in travel, hotel, food, raffles, etc. and over $50.00 entry fees per dog should at least be given their critique in a timely manner. The excuses will begin to fly but two months is just neglectful and lazy. In one night someone could get this done.
I have put on a show or two myself and one was a national. You must be able to take the heat if you are going to put on shows. I sat with my wife while she was giving out critiques at the end of a show years ago when a man walked up to us a ripped his critique up and threw it at us because of what the judge said. Now I really felt like putting my fist through the guys head but being the nice guy that I am I just laughed and I lost all respect for him ever since.
Bottom line get these poor people their critiques or don't put on a show you can't finish. Now that clubs are not spending money on cool trophies the critique is all you may get.

Good post Kevin !

Not so good post Dana ! It is clubs like this that make people NOT want to even show their dogs at all. Some people know going in that a critique is all they are going to get and getting one is not a lot to ask. We are not talking about typing 300 or 400 critiques here. I know that people volunteer their time but if you are going to take on a task you need to finish it. Look at how it is done, go read for yourself. Read all the posts that have to do with a AIRK show and you will see that people go out of their way to post results in one or two days if not the same day. I have never gone home from a AIRK show without a critique in hand. Stuff happens and I understand that but we are talking MONTHS here. Go back to the first post about the show. After a few days I posted " I know it has only been four days but does anyone have any results ? "

If you want to see rude go read the answer I got from Steve. Dave Martin posted results a few days later and that club or nobody in it ever posted ANYTHING and to this day I don't think anyone ever thanked Dave Martin for doing their job :)

If the USRC would take the initiative, there where people out there that wrote programs, to help with the critique, filing, results, almost everything needed to complete the show, Typed one time, and hit a button and it produced all required documents including the Internet results and magazine file....

All that was asked is that the lines be removed from the preprinted critiques, and that was a flat out NO....

So please yes the organization is volunteers, but they dont seek to make it easier..... the USRC databases need a overhaul. to be one database not individual for each volunteer committee.....I have designed and offered to a few clubs, the use of a database and they utilized it, and had some things to work out, but due to the nonsense I gave up on it.

Think how good it would be for an organization to have a database of dogs, for dog shows and a researchable data to see critiques from all shows the dogs where in, to include BSTs. that anyone who is researching a dog. and to help out anyone putting on a dog show to not have to type in all the titles, and owners of each dog entered.....Which makes the registars job easier....

HELLO.... it can be done...

PARK had their results up by Sunday evening for their first show... so yes it can be done.

Well I have been involved Dana and 2 months is way too long of a wait to receive a critique and from any direction you care to look at it.

For the most part since the elections people have remained quiet and are giving the new people in place a chance to get things going again and when someone speaks out about long overdue critiques you want to waltz in and chastise them? It was ok when you complained on the USRC forum about some of these same volunteers because things didn't go the way you would have liked when it came to being recommended for the Schutzhund Committee but if someone else does it's different?

As a reminder this is the reply Andy received from the Regional Director.

Andy,

Why are you so hard on people from the USRC? I think you need to start an AIRK club so we can come on here and give you a hard time. Samantha will get the results up asap for you. You have no idea what goes into shows. Samantha was up to all hours of the morning weeks before and had very little sleep until Monday night. Maybe you forget but some people do have jobs in this country. Working from 7:00am to 6:00 at night, taking care of house and child is a full time job as well. So you have to excuse us if we make you wait a few days for the results. Hope this enlightens you to what our world is like before and after large shows. Take care and thanks for your support.

Steve

David had posted the results were partial and not complete, and many very much looked forward to seeing results which were promised by the RD. Two members of the household are on the EB which then those actions reflect back towards the club for good and bad. Promises should not be made if they are going to be followed through. Others have commented that results on the USRC web site are not posted anything close to timely which current, new, & potential members go to from time to see the workings of the club. Hopefully this and the other results will be taken care of in not too long since there certainly are other pressing issues to be concerned about.

Yes these positions are voluntary, but given a recent election many of those people did quite a bit to get their spot (directed at all positions) so to me each person wanted to actively participate to improve our current condition. As Keith said, many are sitting quietly & patiently seeing what is being done, and what communication is being opened up to keep members & interested non members up to speed.

For what it's worth to anyone...

ShowRegistry.com has a couple of new tools that were designed just for event organizers/superintendents (shows, trials, etc.), and these tools specifically address this type of issue.

As show typist(s) input individual critiques into the ShowRegistry system, each critique will be automatically uploaded to the user-accounts of each participant who has registered for that show/event via ShowRegistry. Additionally, as each class is finishing, the show typist(s) can upload the results of that class automatically on the ShowRegistry "Show page" for that respective show. Moreover, the class results are also automatically broadcast out on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, and LinkedIn (Group). This is all accomplished by using a 3G or 4G wifi card (provided by ShowRegistry). In fact, for those iPhone user out there, ShowRegistry is about to launch a new iPhone application so you can log-on to check out class results, or your dog's respective critique (secured/private), and even register a dog at the last minute (if authorized by the show organizer). As always, the critiques can be printed at the event if the typist chooses to do so.

The cool thing is, the ShowRegistry service is free to event organizers/superintendents, and doesn't cost the exhibitors/participants a dime either. Signing up for a user account on ShowRegistry.com is also free to everyone, and although a little time consuming to input all your personal info for you and ALL of your dogs, it is securely stored forever.

Since ShowRegistry is not directly affiliated with any specific club or breed, this service/tool is going to make organizing events and processing registrations, as well as broadcasting results & critiques much easier. You can't argue with technology, or find fault with an absolutely 100% free service, as long as it works and is reliable. The engineers at ShowRegistry are looking forward to the challenge.

Anyway, I know my submission is not directly relevant to the preceding chat-thread, but I thought offering up a viable remedy might be worth peoples time to read. Since most successful events are achieved on the backs of hardworking & dedicated volunteers, ShowRegistry was designed to help with the job, and not at the expense of the hosting clubs or exhibitors.

Thanks for reading... :)

Not to take away from the direction this discussion is going in but just to clarify.. Though I could make educated assumptions, I personally have NO idea what it takes to put on a show and organize critiques, results, etc. Therefore, I am really in no position to be upset or even frustrated that we haven't received our critique yet; if I gave off the impression that I was either of these things then I apologize. Samantha was great in helping me out before and after show, and replied to an e-mail of mine towards the end of April saying we'd have the critiques in a few weeks. Again, I DON'T MIND AT ALL if there are reasons they haven't gotten them out yet, I am just asking if we are still getting them at all. Seeing as I attended the NCRK Show a couple weeks later and was able to get my critique during the lunch break, I am simply inquiring about the status of this show's critiques because a couple months have gone by now and I have not heard from anyone at SPARK saying "we hope to get critiques out at the end of June, July, August..".

I stand by my original statement that the show was a great event with a great crowd of people and great dogs, but 75% of the reason I attended and paid to enter my dog was to get a critique on him for the purpose of learning. Whether I will be receiving the critique today, tomorrow, or 2 months from now is perfectly fine (to me, maybe not to everyone - and many may have legitimate reasons for feeling a certain way), but I really would just like to have an idea of when they may be coming.

Not trying to step on any toes, that's my Rottweiler's job..

I do not mind the original post asking for critiques but then it becomes a USRC bash-fest. That is what is rude IMO. IERC and BARK both got critiques out by the end of the day and at IERC people came up and asked ALL DAY LONG if they were ready, despite repeatedly telling people that they needed signatures and could be mailed if needed. People always find something to complain about at events which is why so many clubs have folded over the years. The results that Dave Martin posted were simply cross posted from the USRC forum. That's nice he got the kudos for hitting copy/paste 2 days after she posted them but did anyone thank Renee for posting them in the first place?

Again it wasn't asking for a critique that is rude IMO... its that the same people come in and bitch about an organization they know nothing about and have never stepped up to improve. Apparently people would like to wait and see if someone ELSE fixes the organization. Precisely why so many people just give up and stop helping the organization and stop hosting events.

Just want to be clear.. I just copy and pasted the results that someone else was kind enough to post on another forum that I used to be a member of but I asked to be removed from. It sounds like you're saying the USRC runs that forum? If so, makes no difference to me, I just had no idea.. Really did noone thank whoever posted those results on that other forum for posting them? I cannot see that forum at all anymore so I really am asking as I can't see it for myself.. But I would honestly be shocked if noone, including myself (but my posts may have all been removed for all I know), thanked that person (I'm assuming Renee?) for posting those over on that forum if that's what you're asking. As far as I can see (and I am not a USRC member if that makes a difference), right now the results are still not posted on the USRC website; but please Dana or anyone else (and I mean this with all sincerity) correct me if I am wrong, because I would love to see the full results.

USRC Online Forum is where they were originally posted. Not sure where else they ended up but only Dave Smith replied thanking for the show. It is quotes like this that are rude, unnecessary, and inaccurate:

"Dave Martin posted results a few days later and that club or nobody in it ever posted ANYTHING and to this day I don't think anyone ever thanked Dave Martin for doing their job :)"

Renee DID post the results, she DID do her job, and a thankless VOLUNTEER one at that.

The results are not posted on the USRC website for two reasons. The first is because we don't have a webmaster, something I've been trying to push the EB get going on since the board changed hands. Thanks to Staci Heaton's friend, we are just now getting updates done to the website but results cannot be posted to the USRC website until they are audited by the AoR, something that takes time. This is what I mean, people complain about the process but I don't think they realize how many times it has to change hands and it is a system run by volunteers. And if anyone would like to step up and help with the website, we are definitely in need of volunteers.

This thread is referring to the SPARK show not the USRC National Sieger Show that Renee posted.

Not sure if the "involved and bitching" was aimed at me but I was first a member of the USRC when your only mode of transportation was a Big Wheel and I had Rottweilers when you were still in Pampers so don't come on and lecture me Dana about what I do or don't do.

They can be posted it's just that they must state it as unofficial results.

BTW I have put my name in the hat to help just they just don't want it.

Actually I was referring to Andy, in fact, that was the only post I really had an issue with. And it seems to be a constant thing to bash clubs (USRC, AKC, etc) and not be involved or really understand what goes into the club.

DANA - You can have all the complaints about me you want but .... Did I lie ? I just stated the facts. Never bashed the USRC at all and is a matter of fact what I wrote about " if missing critiques and results are all people have to complain about after the past two years " was a compliment to the USRC. A COMPLIMENT ! All I wrote is that Samantha helped Pam and if you ask she may help others. The Steve part was written because of what he told me about people have lives other than dog shows.

You are right about me not ever putting on a dog show with whole 100 entries BUT I have been involved with putting on car shows with 1500 - 1600 cars :) I know what it is like to spend weeks preparing and days afterward cleaning up all for FREE because I was a volunteer. Fact is when I volunteered it was for the whole show and that included what happened afterward !

Some people have good intentions when they volunteer but every now and then people have to realize that if they cant do the job because their life is just too busy then they need to step back. Nobody is forcing SPARK to put on their shows they do it because they want to. When a club puts on a show of any kind you can't really consider it volunteering by the way. Club members do it to raise money for THEIR club so in reality it is a paying job no matter how small the profit. Clubs want their money for entries and if you don't pay guess what ? Well people paid their fee to show and get a critique and I don't remember anyone saying I'll hold payment untill I get what I paid for. TWO MONTHS is way too long to wait for any critique. They could have personally hand written and delivered them in two months time. :)

Andy,

Your comment about the critiques taking two months is valid, but I have to ask- did you go to this show? are you still waiting for a critique? or are you just one of the arm chair coaches out there on the sidelines just bitching?

As far as clubs and shows, you are clueless. Are you a member of any club? You mentioned that you have not ever put on a dog show so why sit there and comment like you are an expert. Unbelievable.

A little info- Allot of times clubs do not make money- they eat it. Without these generous individuals who upfront most of the expenses, there would be no shows! There are many, got that, many people who are not even members of the club that volunteer at many of the events (that means without pay). There are many that show their support in the form of trophy donations, preparing show premiums, and equipment. There are many that go out there and work the dogs and give up their time, sweat, and body for these dogs (without pay). You rarely hear about these people because they are unselfish and truly care about the breed. Their actions speak louder than any internet expert.

Lets not forget about that other group. The ones that do not attend shows, do not send donations, do not run or sit on any committees or EB positions. Most of their time is invested in one thing - internet chat forums. As time goes on people are realizing this group makes up about 2% of the breed, if that. If they truly wanted to support the breed, I am sure they could find more than a once a year entry fee to show their dog.

Entries to any show are appreciated, but that does not entitle people who did not even show or attend the right to constantly sit around and bitch. You can't have it both ways- don't sit there and bitch about few shows, complain and whine, and if you are not willing to have a vested interest.

If many of these individuals would take the time you spend on a computer and hold the end of a leash in any venue, perhaps many things would run smoother. Things most definitely did not go my way allot of the time on the EB, but you don't hear me whining about it, you move on and look for other ways you can help.

Kieth, you know this is not directed at you, you work your dogs, and have ran for positions with the USRC.

Dan - Is a matter of fact I am waiting for one of those critiques. NO, I did not go to that show and wouldn't have gone if it were free but I do go to every show that I can and I went to ERCK show and the new show in CT this past spring. The reason I did not attend the SPARK show is because of the " you need to be a member to show rule " and my exclusion from the USRC Nationals this year which has since been changed back. Just my way to protest that rule I guess.

I personally could care less about getting a critique on a dog that has been shown 20 times as they all pretty much say the same thing but there are people who have never gotten a critique on their dog. For those people I speak up because maybe it leaves a bad taste in their mouth but being new they don't want to say much. You know, sometimes people have to be shamed into doing something and talking trash is the only way to get them moving

I think Andy and other all have valid questions. This constant beating up people who ask questions is just a way to divert and redirect the issue in my opinion. Andy has certainly over the years financially supports USRC and other rottweiler venues which is a positive thing for our breed we love. Whether or not he or anyone has an entry should not dictate he, I, or anyone else inquiring about timely critiques and especially results. Is not the AOR involved in this show? So the question is, is this person doing their job and getting it done and the results are just sitting for the webmaster (which still I don't know why they cant be posted as the RD promised) ? Or did someone else take over as AOR for this event so there is no conflict of interest with also being involved in the event? After 2 months something really should be getting done, and hopefully with renewed attention it will be cleared up and put into the past.

I do hope EB members are able to see that people actually do have valid concerns, and show them the support and understanding that to me has been severely lacking for way too long. Any club that does not producing results, or just those results not getting uploaded to the website does indeed reflect back on the organization.

Yes, the critiques are coming. There were issues at the show with the critique program and Samantha typed every single critique into a word document. Samantha worked diligently to try to solve the issues with the critique program in the weeks following the show in lieu of hand-typing each an every one on the typewriter. She did not have time to do this prior to Nationals which was two week after our show due to paperwork needed by entrants and reports that were due for the GBM.

Its no secret that Samantha suffered some pregnancy related medical issues after Nationals that set her back a few weeks. I understand people need their critiques, but medical issues take precedence.

As people have contacted her Samantha has replied that she was working on them and also sent them electronic text of their critiques from the Word document.

Samantha has been working every spare minute typing critiques after work, in the mornings before work, etc. This is a large job and she understands the importance of getting them out. As a matter of fact she is upstairs right now working on the last of the female critiques to go in the mail to Andreas tomorrow.

The awards forms and BST went to Andreas several weeks ago via FedEx. We are sure he will sign them and return them as quickly as possible. The male critiques should be in AZ any day now. The female critiques should be in the mail to AZ as of tomorrow lunch. As soon as they are returned with the judges signature, Samantha will mail them out immediately.

The club has been sanctioned and censured by the AoR office as is appropriate.

Also, official show results were submitted several months ago for posting on the USRC website and printing in the USRC Magazine. They have been sitting on an ftp site until such a time as a new webmaster is hired and they can be posted. We have no control over when they are posted as we do not handle publication of either.

Steve and Samantha,

Thanks for posting all of the show results, as well as explanations of other issues.

As we are aware, there is plenty of work to go around for those individuals willing to step up.

Thanks a lot, Steve. And thank you for that explanation as to why they were delayed. Again, I hope you don't think I was annoyed with you or anyone at SPARK, I was just looking for some guidance as to when to expect the critiques.. Hope all is well with you and Samantha. Thanks again.

Certainly Health issues trump everything and specific details are never needed. Simple little note as soon as things got delayed would have been a big help. Best wishes on a healthy recovery.

Communication whether from events, actions within a region, or actions within the organization can really help solve or at least help for members to understand many of the issues...and would be great to start seeing it develop into a much more transparent organization that could really build a relationship with those in positions and those who are on the outside. Just like in relationships communication or lack there of can make or break everything, and the USRC has many great things to use to make it outstanding.

Steve made me aware of what was going on yesterday afternoon. Again, apologies to all that I have not been as communicative as I normally am - I see Steve relayed why.

Troy, I put the results up on the SPARK website on the Event Results page in May after they were verified as official. People were having issues finding them and when I had a few minutes a few days ago, I put added a link to them on the SPARK home page to make it easier for everyone. I just checked the link yesterday and it appeared to be working fine in multiple browers, but reset it just in case. I also added the critique pdf's for all the dogs yesterday to the SPARK website as well as posted links to them on FB. Please let me know if you are having any issues viewing the results.

If I missed an email from you, I apologize. I know I sent Pam Scheda, Ernie Witten and several other their critiques electronically when asked. I know I replied to email inquiries from Karen Bang and David Martin as well regarding the status of the critiques. I know you sent me a message a few days ago on FB as did Gil Samuelson. I replied to Gil and was in the process of replying to you when it was indicated that it had been addressed it here. Again, if I missed a physical email, I sincerely apologize. I would have been happy to email you copy of your critique as done with others.

Again, my apologies for the delay. I am working as diligently as possible to assure that all competitors critiques are received as quickly as possible.

Have a terrific day.

Thanks Samantha and Steve - Totally understandable!

Thanks for the updates and take care of yourself. Much appreciated as always...your shows are still one of the best, always the nicest trophies, and run smoothly despite Volcanic ash and whatever else can be thrown at ya :)

I have a question? What happens when a dog is DQ'd does it have to be presented to judges for reinstatement? or can it just enter another show?????

Troy,

Just a quick update for you and the rest of the exhibitors. Andreas has signed and returned all critiques and Samantha is working on mailing this week. Hopefully everyone should have them by early next week. Hope this helps and we never go through this again as a club.

Steve
